AdaniConneX Seeks $1.5 Billion Offshore Loan
AdaniConneX Pvt Ltd, the data centre joint venture between the Adani Group and EdgeConneX, is in discussions with a group of international lenders to raise approximately $1.5 billion through an offshore facility, according to reports citing unnamed sources. The lenders reportedly include DBS Group Holdings, First Abu Dhabi Bank and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, with Natixis, ING Bank and Societe Generale also said to be in talks. Negotiations are understood to cover pricing and a tenure of five to seven years. The proposed borrowing follows an earlier $800 million loan secured by the venture with an 18-month tenor.
Why This Matters For Businesses
The fundraise sits within a much larger capital commitment. The Adani Group has signalled plans to invest roughly $100 billion in data centres and related digital infrastructure by 2035, while Reliance Industries is reportedly preparing investments of up to $110 billion over seven years in AI-related infrastructure. Vendors, contractors and landlords entering into long-term arrangements with data centre operators should assess counterparty risk and contractual protections carefully.
The Demand Picture And Partnerships
Government estimates cited in reports suggest India's data centre capacity could rise to nearly 8 gigawatts by 2030, from about 1.57 gigawatts in August 2026, with the sector potentially attracting around $200 billion in investment over the next seven to eight years. Separately, CoreWea…
