J&K Bank Raises Cover For Govt Staff
Jammu and Kashmir Bank has raised the group personal accident insurance cover for permanent employees of the Jammu and Kashmir government from ₹25 lakh to ₹1 crore. The enhancement is part of a five-year agreement signed with the Union Territory administration on 23 October 2026. The signing was attended by Shailendra Kumar, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, and Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director and CEO of J&K Bank.
Under the revised package, the air accident cover stands at ₹1.35 crore. Permanent total disability attracts ₹75 lakh, while permanent partial disability carries ₹55 lakh. Additional benefits include education assistance of ₹8 lakh for a male child and ₹10 lakh for a girl child in the event of the insured employee's untimely demise. Eligible families may also receive up to ₹10 lakh towards a girl child's marriage and ₹10 lakh in air ambulance cover, subject to applicable terms, rules and regulations.
